Awakening Through Sound and the Creation of Transcendence

There are albums that entertain and there are albums that transform.

Transcendence by Simon Gottlieb belongs to the second category.

In this conversation Simon shares how awakening shaped the music and why listening to these compositions can open a new inner space for anyone searching for calm clarity and emotional depth.

Q: Simon what inspired you to create Transcendence

Simon: The idea arrived during a period of deep personal awakening. Everything in my life had slowed down and I found myself listening more closely to silence to breath to the small internal shifts we often ignore. The music grew out of that state.

Transcendence is a reflection of the moment when the mind becomes quiet and something new begins to emerge from within.

I wanted to create an album that feels spacious calm and emotionally honest. Something that guides listeners back to their own awareness. It is not music for escape. It is music for returning to yourself.

Q: Awakening is a central theme in your work. How did it influence the way you composed the album

Simon:Awakening is a very intimate experience. It does not arrive as a dramatic event. It comes as a soft shift a sense of remembering. While composing I tried to stay inside that feeling.

Each piece began as a single note held long enough for me to hear what it was trying to say. I let the music unfold without force. The aim was to create tones that support calm relaxation focus and emotional healing. These qualities are important because many people who listen to neoclassical or instrumental music are searching for inner balance and relief from stress or anxiety.

So the awakening process shaped the sound and the structure. It demanded honesty. It demanded simplicity. It demanded space.

Q: Many listeners describe Transcendence as calming and almost meditative. Was this intentional

Simon: Absolutely. I wanted every track to feel like a breath. A release. A gentle grounding.

There is a lot of noise in modern life. Music becomes a tool for reducing that noise. When people look for calming music relaxing music music for sleep music for focus or music for emotional clarity I want Transcendence to meet them with exactly what they need.

The album is built to support a slower state of mind. It helps the listener feel safe understood and held. These are essential conditions for any awakening process.

Q: What do you hope listeners will experience when they play this album

Simon:My hope is that each person discovers something unique about themselves. For some it may be peace. For others grounding. For others a release of long held emotion. And some may simply find it easier to focus breathe or fall asleep.

Awakening is not one experience. It is a personal journey.

Transcendence is a quiet companion for that journey. It offers calm energy soft piano gentle strings and an atmosphere that invites you inward.

If someone feels more present more open more connected after listening then the music has done its work.

Q: How do you suggest people use the album in their own awakening process

Simon:I recommend three simple rituals.

Morning presence.

Listen to the first track soon after waking. It sets the emotional tone for the day and helps your awareness settle before the world speeds up.

Evening release.

Use the slower pieces when you want to relax unwind and prepare for deep rest or sleep. This creates a safe space for the nervous system to let go.

Inner reflection.

Play the album during journaling meditation breath work or quiet thinking. The music encourages clarity and emotional honesty. Insights arrive more naturally.

But truly there are no rules. Listen whenever your inner world needs softness.

Q: What does Transcendence mean to you now

Simon:It represents the moment I understood that awakening never ends. It is a continual opening. A continual remembering. A continual return to presence.

Transcendence holds the energy of that understanding. It is a gentle invitation for listeners to feel their own inner space and to trust it.

Why You Should Listen to Transcendence Today
